Who am I?

An elderly piano student, who is generally surprised that people don’t agree with me more. Or that more people don’t agree with me.

A distraction from practising my piano.

What is on it

A mixture of stuff. I’m liberal with a small L and therefore generally in favour of freedom. I am also very sceptical about anyone who presents opinions as facts and the future as a foregone conclusion. Which is almost everyone. Including me.

So, this is a collection of all sorts of stuff I have written over the years, and new things which strike me as interesting. The categories are generally self explanatory, but some additional explanation may help. A number of the Business articles will have been written by me when I worked for my previous employer, IndigoBlue (which I also co-founded). I may have edited them prior to their reincarnation on this site, but mostly they are as they were previously.

Under Comedy you will find The Brains Trust, which was a fantastically successful satirical website* that existed around the turn of the Millennium and for which I was variously a writer, editor and editor-in-chief. Don’t bother looking it up on Google – the only traces of it that are left can be found on the Wayback Machine and here. The articles here are the ones I wrote and are in the original form, prior to the brutal editing of my colleagues. All of the comedy articles are made up, completely untrue and cannot be considered in any way libellous, oh dear me no.

Politics and other things are just musings on stuff.
